1 year check-up - Good results!

I had my one-year MRI and a spot mammogram, and results were good! The mammogram said "Probably benign", which they expect after surgery, and there were no changes since 6 months ago. And the MRI showed no issues. So I remain in the status of "No evidence of Disease" and am thrilled. My feet and hands look and feel good again, which is exciting! My fingerprints are back and I'm delighted to be able to open my own jars and bottles! My main remaining symptoms are inability to focus and accomplish complicated tasks, low endurance, low arm strength, and lower breathing ability. They mostly don't bother me much and are all improving. Frank came back from a FIRST Robotics convention and tested positive for Covid a couple days later, and although we'd stayed apart since he got home, I tested positive the next day. We isolated a lot, but didn't have terrible symptoms. Mostly sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, and fever for a couple of days. I'm thankful th...

Feeling good

I had this all written and forgot to post it so here it is a bit late!

I have been feeling good. My pain and swelling by the port and clavicle has greatly reduced. There was a delay getting the prescription for my blood thinner medication Eliquis, so it wasn't as a result of that. I just started the Eliquis Sunday.

I went back in for a CT angiogram instead of the venogram because it checks veins and arteries. It was very similar to the last week's CT scan, except it was faster. I forgot to mention one big thing about the first CT scan: when they put the contrast in, it felt cool going up my arm, then my head felt hot, then my chest, then abdomen, then hips. When it reached my hips, it felt like I had to pee! The whole process took about 30 seconds. With the CT angiogram, it took about 3 seconds for the whole sensation, and the urge to pee was much stronger. Luckily, I'd gone to the bathroom just before, so I knew I wouldn't have an accident, but it sure felt like I would. This one didn't show anything different, and they still want to do one more, for lower veins just to be extra careful.

In the meantime, I'm chugging along enjoying myself.

I had blood tests for my annual physical, and the doctor seemed happy with how things are going.

We had our first indoor volleyball last week, and I was happy to see how well I could play, lasting the whole 2 1/2 hours without breaks. And I had more strength and my spikes were better, even though I was wearing a mask the whole time.

I also joined in to play a couple days at our town's new pickleball courts. I'd played a bit with a friend several years ago, so I was able to pick it back up pretty well. Hardest part is keeping track of the scoring, which is a weird system. Fun game without too much exertion or joint stress. I didn't know any of the people who came, but they seem nice, and I'll be going back.

And I played frisbee as well as walked 5 days with friends. I have definitely been enjoying all the energy coming back! Lest you think it is all about sports, I also upped helping with household chores, did more garden harvesting, and cooked the results. I'm sure Frank is thrilled I'm helping more with chores, since he had been doing most all the things for many months.

I did get down to the studio and cleaned it all up and started working on an unfinished project I found. When we get back from our trip, I'll finish that, then start a couple new ones I have in mind!

We got out to hold signs for our friend Jenn who is running for state representative, and went to vote in our elections.

I won't make another post until after the 25th. Frank and I will be traveling next week to Pennsylvania to meet with my siblings, their spouses, and our dad! We haven't been together (except on zoom) since before the pandemic, so I am very excited! In normal times, we would get together for 1 week every summer, along with our kids and grandkids, but this is a pared-down version. We'll miss the "kids". Hopefully next year, it will be everyone again.

Enjoying Suzi's last visit!

Some turkeys have been visiting our yard lately
