1 year check-up - Good results!

I had my one-year MRI and a spot mammogram, and results were good! The mammogram said "Probably benign", which they expect after surgery, and there were no changes since 6 months ago. And the MRI showed no issues. So I remain in the status of "No evidence of Disease" and am thrilled. My feet and hands look and feel good again, which is exciting! My fingerprints are back and I'm delighted to be able to open my own jars and bottles! My main remaining symptoms are inability to focus and accomplish complicated tasks, low endurance, low arm strength, and lower breathing ability. They mostly don't bother me much and are all improving. Frank came back from a FIRST Robotics convention and tested positive for Covid a couple days later, and although we'd stayed apart since he got home, I tested positive the next day. We isolated a lot, but didn't have terrible symptoms. Mostly sore throat, cough, stuffy nose, and fever for a couple of days. I'm thankful th...

Chugging along

This week, the redness has subsided a bit, but there is still plenty of redness, itchiness, dryness, and some discomfort. I continue to put lotion on, don't wear bras unless going on walks or playing sports, and sometimes just putting my cool hand or ice on the area with a bit of pressure makes it feel better.

I was a bit unmotivated and sluggish this week in the afternoons, but otherwise have been feeling good. I played the whole time at volleyball until it got too dark for me, and even dove a bit for some balls. I ran around at frisbee the whole time, but pulled my thigh muscle a bit when I stepped in an indentation, so sometimes it was more like hopping! I went for a slow run yesterday, and it seemed OK, so hopefully that will be fine.

We went to the deCordova Museum with Suzi and Alex, and enjoyed a bit of the outdoor sculpture gardens as well as the Triennial exhibit inside the museum.

I spent an hour talking with an acquaintance's friend who has rectal cancer and will be starting chemotherapy this week. She was scared, and it seemed to help her have somebody to talk with who didn't mind the graphic medical symptom descriptions and was willing to sit with her and listen to her understandable worries.

My garden is overflowing with zucchini and yellow summer squash, with some cucumbers and green beans in there too. I have two watermelons too, but am not sure how to know when they are ready to pick.

I made a huge batch of ratatouille with some zucchini and summer squash, some zucchini oatmeal cookies, and will be making zucchini pickles, zucchini bread, summer squash casserole, pasta with squash, etc. I also gave some to Suzi, and will give some to another friend this week. If you have a favorite recipe for summer squash or zucchini, let me know, as they are still taking over our refrigerator!

And our niece Gavi graduated from Wentworth this weekend, so we helped her celebrate by joining them for food! Once on Friday night for Shabbat dinner in their yard, and after the graduation outside at a Mexican restaurant.

With Suzi inside a sculpture!

Some moonscapes by Ann Craven were some of my favorite pieces!

After lots of art and snacks in the shade, a selfie!

A recent warm day was perfect for turtle sightings on a walk with a friend.

Our neighborhood has a "Whoa" sign for horses!

I finally got around to hanging some art in our orange bathroom:
a yellow fused glass bird made by me, a cross stitched sea turtle made by Jenny,
a drawing of an origami butterfly made by Suzi, and a quilt made by me.
It's so much more fun looking at that wall now!

Here's Gavi graduating!
